Can I register the day of the event?

No. Our events are pre-registration only unless otherwise stated on our website.

Registration: Early or Late?

All competitors must pre-register. This can be done via the NEWBREEDUC.com web site. If you register during the Early registration period, you will receive a discounted registration and spectator fee as well as a FREE event tee. Registrations and spectator fees will be full price during the late registration period. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TAKEN AFTER THE LATE REGISTRATION DEADLINE OR AT THE DOOR.

What happens if I pre-register but am unable to compete?

If a competitor gets injured prior to the tournament or has an issue where they cannot compete, their entry fee is not forfeited. They may contact our office to request a voucher for future use. The request must be made no later than 11:59 PM the day of the tournament.

Is there a division for me?

There are divisions for all ages and all skill levels. GI divisions are divided up by age, weight and belt. No-GI divisions are divided by age, weight and experience. Weight and age divisions can be found by selecting the “Divisions” tab in the main menu bar above.

Does the registration fee include Gi and No Gi divisions?

The registration fee does include both Gi and No Gi divisions if you choose to participate in both.

Can I compete in a division outside of my belt rank?

You must compete in your belt division.

Are NUC events single or double elimination?

NUC events are single elimination up until the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals go on and compete for 1st place, the losers compete for 3rd place.

Do I need to be a member of a team to compete?

Absolutely not. In fact, about 25% of our fighters are unaffiliated. NUC events are open to all styles: Wrestling, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Japanese Jujitsu, Sambo, Jeet Kune Do, etc. There are no restrictions on what form of grappling you practice. We have divisions for children and adults of all ages and of all skill levels, in both gi and no-gi competition.

What forms of payment will NUC accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards.

When do I weigh-in?

Weigh-ins will take place on Saturday only. You must be weighed in at least 60 minutes prior to your start time. You only have to weigh in once, even if competing in multiple divisions. If you are late for weigh-ins you will be disqualified.

Do I have to weigh-in with my GI?

You do not have to weigh-in with your GI.

If I cannot make the weight I've selected on the registration form, can I still compete?

For competitors that are 15 years of age or younger, we will try to bump them up to another division, however this is not guaranteed. If this is not possible we will give them a voucher for future use. NO REFUNDS will be given. For competitors that are 16 years of age or older, if you do not make weight you WILL be disqualified and NO voucher or refund will be issued.

Do you have a weight allowance?

Yes, we have a 1 pound allowance.
